00:00:10 --> 00:00:13 Hello there welcome to the Tyranton training
00:00:13 --> 00:00:15 show which is an improv comedy power fantasy
00:00:15 --> 00:00:17 podcast which means that every week I talk to
00:00:17 --> 00:00:18 a new guest about how they would rule their own
00:00:18 --> 00:00:20 country if they were a big tyrannical dictator
00:00:20 --> 00:00:24 I am the host Kevin Ryan and I'm joined in this
00:00:24 --> 00:00:27 intro as always by my fiancee Celine. Hello Someday
00:00:27 --> 00:00:30 you'll be my wife someday. Yeah, do we really
00:00:30 --> 00:00:34 like give people a shock? Like we won't tell
00:00:34 --> 00:00:36 them beforehand when we're getting married eventually
00:00:36 --> 00:00:39 that that and then suddenly you'll be like I'm
00:00:39 --> 00:00:42 joined by my wife I was thinking that we'd get
00:00:42 --> 00:00:45 to Halloween. We'd get to, we'd get to Valentine's
00:00:45 --> 00:00:47 Day. And then I'd introduce you as my buddy.
00:00:49 --> 00:00:51 And then they can speculate. I might just give
00:00:51 --> 00:00:54 you a different title every day. Yeah. My Mortician.
00:00:54 --> 00:00:57 Which one is real? Ooh, yeah. So anyway, this
00:00:57 --> 00:01:00 week I have on James Quesada, who is an improv
00:01:00 --> 00:01:03 and comedy creator who also hosts this show on
00:01:03 --> 00:01:07 Spotify and other podcasty platforms called Sounds
00:01:07 --> 00:01:11 Funny Radio, right, which is James hosting a
00:01:11 --> 00:01:13 load of different improvisers who play all sorts
00:01:13 --> 00:01:15 of fun games like improv games and stuff like
00:01:15 --> 00:01:17 that. So you can follow him. There's also like
00:01:17 --> 00:01:20 links to that. And they do live shows as well.
00:01:21 --> 00:01:23 So you can check out their live show tour where
00:01:23 --> 00:01:26 they do that. And I'll have a link to his Instagram.
00:01:26 --> 00:01:29 But so do you want to hear some other context
00:01:29 --> 00:01:33 quotes? Yes, please. Did any of them happen to
00:01:33 --> 00:01:37 bring the remains of Kim Jong -il over? But it
00:01:37 --> 00:01:41 turns out bunny rabbits get a little too riled
00:01:41 --> 00:01:43 up about hunting other people for sport. Any
00:01:43 --> 00:01:46 acknowledgement of me will lead to immediate
00:01:46 --> 00:01:48 execution. Time for the culling. Time to start
00:01:48 --> 00:01:52 culling. James is a delight, a lovely man. You
00:01:52 --> 00:01:54 know, don't worry about the whole last part there.
00:01:55 --> 00:01:58 He sounds very kind and very kind. Kind eyes,
00:01:58 --> 00:02:01 kind voice. The last part. What did you hear?
00:02:02 --> 00:02:04 Time for the culling. Time to start culling.
00:02:04 --> 00:02:06 Yes. I want to play that again because I think
00:02:06 --> 00:02:09 it turns into a dance. If anyone is it might
00:02:09 --> 00:02:12 ask him to. I think we have a new song. Bear
00:02:12 --> 00:02:15 with me. OK. Time for the culling. Time to start
00:02:15 --> 00:02:18 culling. Time for the culling. Time to start
00:02:18 --> 00:02:22 culling. time for the culling time to start culling
00:02:22 --> 00:02:25 time for the culling time to start culling i
00:02:25 --> 00:02:27 think if you put a beat to that yeah absolutely
00:02:27 --> 00:02:29 speed it up a little bit i think okay yeah and
00:02:29 --> 00:02:31 then and then put a beat to it and Think I might
00:02:31 --> 00:02:34 have found my new trailer. Yes. Yeah. Yeah. But
00:02:34 --> 00:02:36 I love it. I might ask him, can he can he do
00:02:36 --> 00:02:39 something for me? That's excellent. I love it.
00:02:39 --> 00:02:40 Love it. Right. You just replay that. Yeah. It
00:02:40 --> 00:02:42 gets in your head. Very catchy. Yeah. Right.
00:02:43 --> 00:02:44 So thank you for that. So you can find James
00:02:44 --> 00:02:46 said I'll be putting links and everything else
00:02:46 --> 00:02:49 and linking him to the show. And you can also
00:02:49 --> 00:02:51 listen to the show or find the show anywhere
00:02:51 --> 00:02:53 you get podcasts. And also Tyrant in Training
00:02:53 --> 00:02:55 has its own website. Just type in Tyrant in Training
00:02:55 --> 00:02:57 website and you'll find previous tyrants who
00:02:57 --> 00:03:01 have taken over islands. So yeah. Enjoy. Enjoy.
00:03:02 --> 00:03:04 Everybody. Culling. Culling, yes. When I say
00:03:04 --> 00:03:08 I'm going to cull, how do you take that? Violent
00:03:08 --> 00:03:11 or not? Violent. Right? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Because
00:03:11 --> 00:03:13 we did get a bit caught up there because I assumed
00:03:13 --> 00:03:16 it was like physical violence. Yeah. He took
00:03:16 --> 00:03:19 it as no. Just get rid of people. OK, so just
00:03:19 --> 00:03:22 like remove them from the island. But culling
00:03:22 --> 00:03:25 is... If anyone wants to just confirm that, yeah.
00:03:25 --> 00:03:27 I feel like I've only ever heard it in the context
00:03:27 --> 00:03:29 of, you know, murder. Not murder. How often have
00:03:29 --> 00:03:32 you heard it? Every day of my life. You've heard
00:03:32 --> 00:03:33 it every day of your life? Well, someday I'll
00:03:33 --> 00:03:37 do it. Anyway, yeah, here is James, and enjoy
00:03:37 --> 00:03:51 the show everyone. Bye! I'm curious because you
00:03:51 --> 00:03:53 have a book beside you. You're one of the few
00:03:53 --> 00:03:55 people who brings a book along. Did you write
00:03:55 --> 00:03:58 notes on what your country is going to be like?
00:03:59 --> 00:04:05 I did. Yeah, I wrote down a few notes and ideas
00:04:05 --> 00:04:10 because I started really thinking about this
00:04:10 --> 00:04:14 earlier this morning. And then I was like, maybe
00:04:14 --> 00:04:19 I should just write down some options. Why not?
00:04:19 --> 00:04:25 Like goals or? Like, yeah. What do I want to
00:04:25 --> 00:04:28 get out of this conversation? No, like like ideas
00:04:28 --> 00:04:31 and ideas of of what I want my country to be.
00:04:31 --> 00:04:35 My island. I just see money written down and
00:04:35 --> 00:04:37 underlying. Yeah, I'm going to be I'm going to
00:04:37 --> 00:04:39 be doing some affirmations on the side if that's
00:04:39 --> 00:04:45 OK. I would just like to know after this is over
00:04:45 --> 00:04:48 how close it's it's stayed along the path you
00:04:48 --> 00:04:51 have written out for yourself. OK. because I
00:04:51 --> 00:04:53 don't see it. I don't think this is the kind
00:04:53 --> 00:04:55 of organized notes that you might be thinking
00:04:55 --> 00:04:59 of. I did. I did. Someone has arrived on and
00:04:59 --> 00:05:01 went, yeah, I'm ready and brought out a big binder
00:05:01 --> 00:05:04 full of notes. And then when I'd ask the question,
00:05:04 --> 00:05:09 go, oh, OK, 30 page, 33. I was like, OK. I wrote
00:05:09 --> 00:05:13 a constitution. That's that is about time. Nobody
00:05:13 --> 00:05:16 does it. I have to ask you first, though, we're
00:05:16 --> 00:05:19 going to set up this country of yours, because
00:05:19 --> 00:05:20 we're not going to take over a country, because
00:05:20 --> 00:05:24 that's bad. We are going to magic up an island
00:05:24 --> 00:05:26 in the middle of the ocean. So I'm going to show
00:05:26 --> 00:05:29 you a map of the world to give you help where
00:05:29 --> 00:05:33 to put this island. I don't know. OK. Would you
00:05:33 --> 00:05:35 like to see something that has nothing to do
00:05:35 --> 00:05:36 with it? It's got to do with Google Maps, but
00:05:36 --> 00:05:38 it's got nothing to do with the podcast itself,
00:05:38 --> 00:05:40 unless I just need to say an infected. You see
00:05:40 --> 00:05:42 Ireland there, right? Yeah. Here's the thing
00:05:42 --> 00:05:45 about Ireland that I noticed. So if I go into,
00:05:45 --> 00:05:46 you know, with Google Maps, you can change the
00:05:46 --> 00:05:49 like how it looks, right? The train and stuff.
00:05:49 --> 00:05:52 One of the options is air quality. Right. So
00:05:52 --> 00:05:55 there's an air quality map now. Yeah. Right.
00:05:55 --> 00:05:57 I mean, look, there's no way around it. India
00:05:57 --> 00:06:02 isn't great. It's not, you know, I'll just glance
00:06:02 --> 00:06:06 at America there. It's not it's not as bad as
00:06:06 --> 00:06:08 you'd have thought. Right. I guess although that
00:06:08 --> 00:06:12 that. red pocket in the Dakotas. I'm like, what,
00:06:13 --> 00:06:17 what is there? I would expect that to be LA and
00:06:17 --> 00:06:21 New York, not Midwest. I mean, something happened
00:06:21 --> 00:06:24 there. Something's gone on there, but that's
00:06:24 --> 00:06:25 the story for another time. I will show you Ireland
00:06:25 --> 00:06:27 because this is fascinating. So when you, when
00:06:27 --> 00:06:30 you're far out, it's all green, right? And by
00:06:30 --> 00:06:32 the way, I appreciate this is an audio podcast.
00:06:33 --> 00:06:36 Just if you want to whoever's listening, it wants
00:06:36 --> 00:06:39 to get the steps. Follow the steps. You get Google
00:06:39 --> 00:06:42 Maps, you open it, you go Ireland and you start
00:06:42 --> 00:06:45 zooming in. It all looks good, right? That's
00:06:45 --> 00:06:47 that middle part is good. Dress for this fair.
00:06:47 --> 00:06:49 That sounds about right. Here's what happens
00:06:49 --> 00:06:51 when you start going in closer. Have you ever
00:06:51 --> 00:06:54 seen stranger things? Yes. OK, I hope it's still
00:06:54 --> 00:06:57 here because it'll be very upside down situation
00:06:57 --> 00:07:00 going on. I think we do. Oh my God, is it gone?
00:07:00 --> 00:07:03 Oh my God, it's gone. This is all right. Wow.
00:07:03 --> 00:07:07 You, whatever it is. It was there. Okay. And
00:07:07 --> 00:07:10 they took it down before you could show anyone
00:07:10 --> 00:07:14 else. They definitely did. I swear. Okay. I'm
00:07:14 --> 00:07:17 not, uh, Oh, what was the, what was that? Winona
00:07:17 --> 00:07:21 Ryder's name. I'm not crazy. My relative is going
00:07:21 --> 00:07:24 down. My confidence in your sanity is tanking.
00:07:26 --> 00:07:28 Genuine. Oh, I'm gonna be so annoyed. I'm gonna
00:07:28 --> 00:07:30 have to go to what was it? Well, tell me tell
00:07:30 --> 00:07:32 me what tell me what what was the spiral? It
00:07:32 --> 00:07:35 was a spiral of red. Do you remember? Did you
00:07:35 --> 00:07:39 watch Game of Thrones? Yeah, yeah the last season
00:07:39 --> 00:07:41 remember the whole spiral of bodies and then
00:07:41 --> 00:07:43 they were like that went nowhere Oh, yes. Yep.
00:07:43 --> 00:07:47 It went here. It went to Southeast Ireland. I
00:07:47 --> 00:07:50 Swear to you. Okay. I got you. You're seeing
00:07:50 --> 00:07:52 spirals in the in the map in your computer. Gotcha
00:07:53 --> 00:07:55 There's been so many guests that I've thought,
00:07:55 --> 00:07:57 I know I won't say this because I don't want
00:07:57 --> 00:08:01 the damn Ireland here. The one time I'm like,
00:08:01 --> 00:08:04 screw it, I can trust James. OK, forget it. I
00:08:04 --> 00:08:05 don't know if I keep that in the podcast, but
00:08:05 --> 00:08:08 where do you want your island? I'll get rid of
00:08:08 --> 00:08:11 air. Do you need air quality on? No. Yeah, I'm
00:08:11 --> 00:08:15 probably not a bad consideration. But but here's
00:08:15 --> 00:08:16 my question for you, because this is this is
00:08:16 --> 00:08:21 where this is what I would like from. this experience,
00:08:21 --> 00:08:26 if you're up for it. I was finding myself thinking
00:08:26 --> 00:08:31 of some ideas and whatnot. And I'm like, I don't
00:08:31 --> 00:08:33 even really know what to consider here. Because
00:08:33 --> 00:08:37 on the one hand, I could make a total fantasy
00:08:37 --> 00:08:39 island, right? You don't really have any rules,
00:08:39 --> 00:08:43 I guess. Not what a real vibe is. I like using
00:08:43 --> 00:08:48 some of this realistic stuff. So I would love
00:08:48 --> 00:08:50 it if you could guide me with some things to
00:08:50 --> 00:08:53 consider with questions like this, especially
00:08:53 --> 00:08:58 getting started. Am I maybe considering how easy
00:08:58 --> 00:09:01 it is to travel to other places based on where
00:09:01 --> 00:09:07 I put my island? Two things I usually mention
00:09:07 --> 00:09:09 when we're setting up an island is, first of
00:09:09 --> 00:09:10 all, you have to consider what sort of weather
00:09:10 --> 00:09:13 you want. If you're someone who doesn't like
00:09:13 --> 00:09:16 the cold and you're up north of Scandinavia,
00:09:16 --> 00:09:18 you may be in trouble. The other thing is if
00:09:18 --> 00:09:20 you want to visit home, because if you're all
00:09:20 --> 00:09:22 if you're in New York, but you're all the way
00:09:22 --> 00:09:26 out into the Indian Ocean, like that's a fair
00:09:26 --> 00:09:29 trip. Right. Mm hmm. I mean, the way the world
00:09:29 --> 00:09:31 is going, I really want to get into this. But
00:09:31 --> 00:09:34 I suppose if you're like, well, I want to be
00:09:34 --> 00:09:37 allies with some reality. OK. Whatever country
00:09:37 --> 00:09:40 you love the most, you might want to be near
00:09:40 --> 00:09:43 them. The closer you are to a country, this is
00:09:43 --> 00:09:44 the way it works in real life. The closer you
00:09:44 --> 00:09:46 are, the more friendlier you get. That's why
00:09:46 --> 00:09:48 America and Canada are absolutely fine right
00:09:48 --> 00:09:56 now. All right. So I do want four seasons. Yes.
00:09:57 --> 00:09:59 So basically, I think what I want is some kind
00:09:59 --> 00:10:04 of like Madagascar slash New Zealand type. island
00:10:04 --> 00:10:08 addition to the east coast of the US. Oh, I thought
00:10:08 --> 00:10:10 you were going down there. OK. Yes. OK. So you
00:10:10 --> 00:10:14 went to the east coast. I do. Yeah. Are you?
00:10:15 --> 00:10:18 Hold on. I could be completely wrong here. When
00:10:18 --> 00:10:22 you guys in America get hurricanes and you still
00:10:22 --> 00:10:25 live in that country. I mean, I'm I'm Myrus.
00:10:25 --> 00:10:28 I have a gust of wind and I panic. But I thought
00:10:28 --> 00:10:30 the whole thing is it always comes up. You know,
00:10:30 --> 00:10:33 it comes up sneaking up on Florida and then it
00:10:33 --> 00:10:35 goes past Florida and it goes near New York and
00:10:35 --> 00:10:37 then it sails right. Like it just sails out east.
00:10:38 --> 00:10:41 So, yeah, you might want to consider that as
00:10:41 --> 00:10:44 well. I got I got to consider. Yeah, well, we'll
00:10:44 --> 00:10:50 fortify. You wanted realism. Oh, you know. Yeah,
00:10:51 --> 00:10:54 yeah, we're going to fortify it with a with a
00:10:54 --> 00:10:56 giant seawall because I'll tell you what, we
00:10:56 --> 00:11:01 do get some flooding here in New York. But it's
00:11:01 --> 00:11:03 never as bad as I think the news makes it out
00:11:03 --> 00:11:05 to be and I don't know how much New York news
00:11:05 --> 00:11:10 coverage you get but but like My family in Michigan,
00:11:10 --> 00:11:13 you know, they're like New York is is, you know
00:11:13 --> 00:11:17 under freaking Noah's Ark and it's like some
00:11:17 --> 00:11:20 some pockets are bad, but you know, it's a big
00:11:20 --> 00:11:24 city so it's Not it's not as Dramatic as all
00:11:24 --> 00:11:27 that they they have to stop watching the day
00:11:27 --> 00:11:31 after tomorrow It is skewing them. Yeah, the
00:11:31 --> 00:11:34 Statue of Liberty is submerged. OK, so you want
00:11:34 --> 00:11:36 the island. Do you? So do you want the island
00:11:36 --> 00:11:39 like near New York and East Coast or? Yeah, I
00:11:39 --> 00:11:41 think so. Yeah. Somewhere around there, because
00:11:41 --> 00:11:43 I'm going to place this river somewhere between.
00:11:44 --> 00:11:46 Oh, you actually have a little icon that you
00:11:46 --> 00:11:48 put. Yes, I put see just lads everywhere around
00:11:48 --> 00:11:51 us. Oh, that's great. So, yes, sorry. You were
00:11:51 --> 00:11:53 saying you wanted near New York and another place.
00:11:53 --> 00:11:56 Yeah, maybe somewhere like stretch between New
00:11:56 --> 00:12:00 York and Boston. Little, little north hurricane
00:12:00 --> 00:12:04 cautions. Oh, it's the north. Oh, look, it's
00:12:04 --> 00:12:07 there. Yeah. So like, so yeah, like an island.
00:12:07 --> 00:12:10 Yeah, that's great. Yeah. So I'm going to place
00:12:10 --> 00:12:12 that there and I have to ask you, do you have
00:12:12 --> 00:12:15 any ideas what name you would like to name it?
00:12:15 --> 00:12:17 Oh, you know what? I, that is one thing I definitely
00:12:17 --> 00:12:21 did not think of you. Okay. That's like planning
00:12:21 --> 00:12:24 your newborn's college degree and going a name.
00:12:24 --> 00:12:31 Oh God. Yeah, let me... Oh, you know what I was
00:12:31 --> 00:12:35 thinking was an interesting name earlier is previous.
00:12:35 --> 00:12:39 The word previous, yeah. Like P -E -R -E -V -I
00:12:39 --> 00:12:44 -O -U -S, like no pun in that or nothing. Yeah,
00:12:44 --> 00:12:47 exactly how you spell the word, but I'm gonna
00:12:47 --> 00:12:50 dilute the meaning of it by naming a country
00:12:50 --> 00:12:52 that same thing. And no, it doesn't have any
00:12:52 --> 00:12:55 like relationship to the meaning of the definition
00:12:55 --> 00:12:57 of the word or anything. It's just, I think previous
00:12:57 --> 00:13:02 sounds like it could be a country or a band.
00:13:03 --> 00:13:05 Right. Yeah. Do you want to have a band on the
00:13:05 --> 00:13:08 island called previous as well? Yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:13:08 --> 00:13:11 That's our, that's our national band. So for
00:13:11 --> 00:13:13 someone who's written down notes, you have just
00:13:13 --> 00:13:16 gone completely random and just like opened up
00:13:16 --> 00:13:19 a dictionary and went. That one. Okay. Cool.
00:13:19 --> 00:13:23 Yeah, great. Like I said, I don't think I made
00:13:23 --> 00:13:28 the most organized use of... I don't think I
00:13:28 --> 00:13:31 started with the right priority in my notes.
00:13:32 --> 00:13:37 Okay. We will get to your official title. So
00:13:37 --> 00:13:39 when people come onto the island, what should
00:13:39 --> 00:13:44 they be calling you? Captain. Captain. Just Captain
00:13:44 --> 00:13:47 James? Captain... Captain James. Yeah, that's
00:13:47 --> 00:13:49 good. Oh, I thought Captain K -Sata would be
00:13:49 --> 00:13:53 great. Captain K -Sata's good too. Yeah. But
00:13:53 --> 00:13:57 either one. Captain Q. Captain Q. Oh. Oh, great.
00:13:57 --> 00:14:00 Okay. I think he was in Star Trek. Captain Q
00:14:00 --> 00:14:02 is there. Is there a Captain Q in Star Trek?
00:14:02 --> 00:14:04 It's a blind spot for me. I think it's a very
00:14:04 --> 00:14:06 old reference to a character called Q. That was
00:14:06 --> 00:14:10 it. Gotcha. Yeah, there we go. I'll edit it after.
00:14:10 --> 00:14:13 Don't worry. Okay, so I have Captain Q. I'm gonna
00:14:13 --> 00:14:16 call it Captain Q. Hang on a minute. OK, I will
00:14:16 --> 00:14:20 add that. Are you OK with your citizen? You have
00:14:20 --> 00:14:21 plenty of room on the island when I say this,
00:14:21 --> 00:14:23 but you're going to have 10 million citizens.
00:14:23 --> 00:14:25 Is that all right? That seems like a lot to me.
00:14:25 --> 00:14:28 That's like that's more than what the population
00:14:28 --> 00:14:30 in New York. I think that's only like 9 million.
00:14:31 --> 00:14:34 Is it OK if I tone that down? Absolutely. You
00:14:34 --> 00:14:36 can when you say tone down, I mean, you can do
00:14:36 --> 00:14:40 you mean cull them or just not let them in? We
00:14:40 --> 00:14:42 don't need to get to culling just yet. I think
00:14:42 --> 00:14:45 on the invitation, it's vetting. We're vetting.
00:14:46 --> 00:14:48 You gritted your teeth when I said culling. That's
00:14:48 --> 00:14:51 a good sign. That was a test. Eventually we may
00:14:51 --> 00:14:53 have to do some culling, but for starters, we're
00:14:53 --> 00:14:58 vetting. We'll do 1 million. So you're getting
00:14:58 --> 00:15:02 rid of 9 million immediately? So you're saying
00:15:02 --> 00:15:05 you're giving me 10 million? I'm saying 10 million
00:15:05 --> 00:15:09 show off on a boat. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And you
00:15:09 --> 00:15:10 said you wanted to vet them. And if I don't take
00:15:10 --> 00:15:12 all of them, I gotta do something with them still.
00:15:12 --> 00:15:14 You can send them back. No, no, no, you can send
00:15:14 --> 00:15:15 them back. You can say, look, he came from somewhere,
00:15:16 --> 00:15:18 lads. Back eagle. You said vetting, and I'm very
00:15:18 --> 00:15:20 curious about that. How are you vetting them?
00:15:20 --> 00:15:23 Yeah. Just a quick personality check. Brilliant.
00:15:24 --> 00:15:26 I would like to improvise this. Hello there.
00:15:26 --> 00:15:29 I would like to join your country of previous.
00:15:29 --> 00:15:31 How's it going? Hello. My name is Martin. Can
00:15:31 --> 00:15:34 I join? Great. What you need to know? Well, Martin,
00:15:34 --> 00:15:36 why don't you tell me a little bit about yourself?
00:15:36 --> 00:15:38 What's your story? My story? Well, I'm a man
00:15:38 --> 00:15:42 with a very long, but highly edited story. I'm
00:15:42 --> 00:15:45 28. I have been in college now for 10 years.
00:15:45 --> 00:15:48 You made me laugh with that highly edited story.
00:15:48 --> 00:15:50 Come on in. You got it. You got it. Right. Perfect.
00:15:50 --> 00:15:52 There's a knock on the door. Hello, I'm Susan.
00:15:53 --> 00:15:56 Susan, how's it going? Good. It's so nice to
00:15:56 --> 00:15:58 meet you. You can call me Captain Q. Captain
00:15:58 --> 00:16:02 Q? Hello. Hello. Tell me a little bit about yourself.
00:16:02 --> 00:16:04 What's your story? What's your background? What
00:16:04 --> 00:16:07 brought you to the island? Well, I've decided
00:16:07 --> 00:16:11 I need a new adventure in life. My marriage is
00:16:11 --> 00:16:15 over. And I think that's the way to do it. John's
00:16:15 --> 00:16:20 no longer in the picture. OK. Are you sure? How
00:16:20 --> 00:16:22 long ago was the divorce? Oh, no, he's dead.
00:16:22 --> 00:16:26 I killed him. Oh, wow. OK, so we're going to
00:16:26 --> 00:16:29 point you back to the mainland. Right? Alright.
00:16:29 --> 00:16:31 This way? Okay, thanks very much. Yeah, yeah,
00:16:31 --> 00:16:33 yeah, so sorry. We're just no murderers. Okay.
00:16:34 --> 00:16:37 Alright, John was a terrorist. But it's okay.
00:16:38 --> 00:16:41 But he's funny. Got the wrong answer. Yeah, he's
00:16:41 --> 00:16:45 charming. He was charming, yeah. But okay, okay.
00:16:45 --> 00:16:47 You just asked him what's their story and if
00:16:47 --> 00:16:49 they can get a laugh or an interesting fact in
00:16:49 --> 00:16:51 there. Well, that's a word for John, but you
00:16:51 --> 00:16:55 know, I trust my... Radar for these things. Okay.
00:16:55 --> 00:16:57 Give us one question on that questionnaire. I
00:16:57 --> 00:16:59 won't even answer it I just want to know I want
00:16:59 --> 00:17:02 to have a vibe of what you're oh My god, is it
00:17:02 --> 00:17:06 just one answer of give me your backs? Yeah,
00:17:06 --> 00:17:09 get them talking and you get a little temperature
00:17:09 --> 00:17:13 check Yeah, it'd be something like what makes
00:17:13 --> 00:17:15 you feel like you're a good fit for this. I mean,
00:17:15 --> 00:17:19 oh you're such I hate those Oh, they're the worst
00:17:20 --> 00:17:22 Yeah, but you know, sometimes sometimes you got
00:17:22 --> 00:17:25 to weed people out that let me change my edit
00:17:25 --> 00:17:28 my answer there or the question rather. The question
00:17:28 --> 00:17:31 is going to be what do you love most about previous?
00:17:31 --> 00:17:36 All right. Yeah. I love how you're always mentioned
00:17:36 --> 00:17:40 in TV shows. Yeah, they're previously on. Yeah,
00:17:40 --> 00:17:42 previously. Oh, there's definitely someone called
00:17:42 --> 00:17:44 Leon. You should have been Leon. What are you
00:17:44 --> 00:17:47 doing as captain? Oh, man, what am I doing? All
00:17:47 --> 00:17:49 right. I'll take Leon previously previously on.
00:17:50 --> 00:17:54 Previously on. Yeah. Right. OK. Right. We'll
00:17:54 --> 00:17:55 get into it. What sort of mansion do you want?
00:17:55 --> 00:17:57 You have one million people on the island. Do
00:17:57 --> 00:17:59 you want a mansion or a house or what? What way
00:17:59 --> 00:18:02 do you want to live? Oh, I guess not a mansion.
00:18:02 --> 00:18:07 I don't need that much space. If I am going to
00:18:07 --> 00:18:11 indulge, I do want like a black box theater in
00:18:11 --> 00:18:14 my house. Oh, sweet. That's the only like crazy
00:18:14 --> 00:18:17 thing. Yeah. Oh, yeah, yeah, definitely. I don't
00:18:17 --> 00:18:21 even really need like a pool. or, you know, tennis
00:18:21 --> 00:18:23 courts or anything like that. But I do want I
00:18:23 --> 00:18:28 want a black box theater, a 50 seater in my house
00:18:28 --> 00:18:30 somewhere. Are you performing in there or are
00:18:30 --> 00:18:34 you bringing in people to watch? Well, both workshops
00:18:34 --> 00:18:38 and rehearsals. Yeah. Performances. Yeah. OK.
00:18:38 --> 00:18:40 You'll have time to run a country and do that.
00:18:40 --> 00:18:42 That's fine. So you wanted a kind of regular
00:18:42 --> 00:18:46 house, right? But you have that wing for the
00:18:46 --> 00:18:49 black box theater. Yes. Yeah. Yeah. OK, I'll
00:18:49 --> 00:18:55 accept that. Are you going to, like, work as
00:18:55 --> 00:18:58 Leon of previous? Are you going to work at the
00:18:58 --> 00:19:00 house or do you have an office in town, you know,
00:19:00 --> 00:19:02 at the Senate or whatever government building?
00:19:06 --> 00:19:09 Wait, wait, wait. We're saying there's a capital
00:19:09 --> 00:19:11 building. If I want a capital building, I can
00:19:11 --> 00:19:14 choose to have an office there and primarily
00:19:14 --> 00:19:16 work there or primarily work from home. Yeah,
00:19:16 --> 00:19:19 that's it. Yeah, all right. Yeah, I think I'm
00:19:19 --> 00:19:22 going to work from home. Yeah, I think that's
00:19:22 --> 00:19:24 what everyone heard out of that question, I hope.
00:19:25 --> 00:19:28 Yeah, yeah, yeah. It was like, yeah, yeah. OK,
00:19:28 --> 00:19:30 you're working. I guess some people want to separate
00:19:30 --> 00:19:32 it, but no, not me. I want to work from home.
00:19:33 --> 00:19:35 You stay at home and work there. Yeah. So you're
00:19:35 --> 00:19:36 allowing people to come up to your house. You
00:19:36 --> 00:19:40 don't want any armed guards renting. Yeah, I
00:19:40 --> 00:19:43 guess I'll have a, you know, a yard with a short
00:19:43 --> 00:19:46 brick wall. Oh, very accommodating. OK, yeah,
00:19:46 --> 00:19:48 yeah, yeah. People can just come up. No, no fear
00:19:48 --> 00:19:50 of the citizens. I'm not afraid of the citizens.
00:19:51 --> 00:19:54 I vetted everybody. That's true, which are flawless.
00:19:55 --> 00:19:58 Like Rick Grimes on A Walkin' Dead has more of
00:19:58 --> 00:20:03 a thorough process. True, yeah. I'll add that
00:20:03 --> 00:20:05 to the questionnaire, is how many people have
00:20:05 --> 00:20:08 you killed? Yeah, there you go. Susan would have
00:20:08 --> 00:20:10 been right out. And she turned out good. When
00:20:10 --> 00:20:13 you set up previous... There's a million people
00:20:13 --> 00:20:15 who are all very happy to join you. So either
00:20:15 --> 00:20:18 way, this question like you're not you're not
00:20:18 --> 00:20:21 annoying anyone on your item by choosing what
00:20:21 --> 00:20:23 happens here. But are you allowing democracies?
00:20:23 --> 00:20:26 What I mean is for the everyday boring admin
00:20:26 --> 00:20:28 part of running a country, are you going to select
00:20:28 --> 00:20:31 10 people like an inner circle that they do all
00:20:31 --> 00:20:34 the work and they're under your command? Or are
00:20:34 --> 00:20:36 you going to allow the million people to vote
00:20:36 --> 00:20:38 for like 100 senators? But you have ultimate
00:20:38 --> 00:20:40 power over them. They just do the born stuff.
00:20:41 --> 00:20:43 Hey, I think none of this like wait, I don't
00:20:43 --> 00:20:47 think we need senators Okay, I think we I think
00:20:47 --> 00:20:51 we people vote and I'll have a it'll be like
00:20:51 --> 00:20:56 a non -profit With okay or a board board members
00:20:56 --> 00:20:59 board members Yeah, okay. But what if they vote
00:20:59 --> 00:21:04 for someone really stupid? Like what? What's
00:21:04 --> 00:21:05 my worst -case scenario here, what am I trying
00:21:05 --> 00:21:10 to avoid your worst -case scenario is The worst
00:21:10 --> 00:21:12 case scenario is that someone comes in, voted
00:21:12 --> 00:21:15 in, and says, I think we need to spend most of
00:21:15 --> 00:21:23 our budget on reanimating Kim Jong -il. It's
00:21:23 --> 00:21:27 time. People want to do it? Yeah, let's see what
00:21:27 --> 00:21:29 happens. OK, I'll work on that. I'm going to
00:21:29 --> 00:21:31 have to invade North Korea to get his body. Are
00:21:31 --> 00:21:33 you OK with that? Oh, that's tough. No, no, no,
00:21:33 --> 00:21:38 no, no. I'll step in with some video power. OK,
00:21:38 --> 00:21:40 yeah, exactly. You veto it, but you're going
00:21:40 --> 00:21:43 to let them get voted in. Your own democracy.
00:21:44 --> 00:21:47 OK, great. Good. You have no idea. How many people
00:21:47 --> 00:21:53 say no? Yeah. I'll say 75 percent. About three
00:21:53 --> 00:21:55 quarters. Most people say no voting. The name
00:21:55 --> 00:21:59 of the game is being a tyrant. I'll say 40 percent
00:21:59 --> 00:22:02 say no voting, but then another 40 percent say,
00:22:02 --> 00:22:04 oh yeah, voting. Oh, no, wait, no, they can't
00:22:04 --> 00:22:06 vote for people I don't like. No, no, no, no.
00:22:07 --> 00:22:09 I might take it away if they do that. I'll I'll
00:22:09 --> 00:22:11 make sure they vote for the correct people. So,
00:22:11 --> 00:22:15 you know, voting. But that's fine. You you are
00:22:15 --> 00:22:17 sticking to democracy. Great. By the way, what
00:22:17 --> 00:22:20 are you wearing as the Leon of previous? See,
00:22:20 --> 00:22:23 I'm not even going to say previously on the Leon
00:22:23 --> 00:22:27 of previous. Yeah, great. What official robes
00:22:27 --> 00:22:30 or suits or garments of any kind that you want
00:22:30 --> 00:22:33 to wear? I'll take a cape. Everyone goes for
00:22:33 --> 00:22:36 a cape, like a cape like Superman or like a robe.
00:22:36 --> 00:22:38 Like that's another one. That's another one that's
00:22:38 --> 00:22:40 common. People are. Yeah, people like the capes.
00:22:40 --> 00:22:43 Not not that often. Oh, no, no, no. But yeah.
00:22:44 --> 00:22:47 Mm hmm. I'll do a tailcoat. Like like a suit
00:22:47 --> 00:22:50 with. Yeah, I'm switching it. Oh, like like a
00:22:50 --> 00:22:54 like a tuxedo, but tailcoat. Oh, OK. Like Count
00:22:54 --> 00:22:56 Duckula. Yeah. Did you ever watch that Count
00:22:56 --> 00:23:00 Duckula? Wait, Docula? No. No, Duckula. My accent
00:23:00 --> 00:23:12 is flawless. Are you saying doc D -O -C or Dracula
00:23:12 --> 00:23:18 with an Irish accent? I'm saying a duck D -U
00:23:18 --> 00:23:23 -C -K. ULA. D -U -C -K, okay. Count Duckula,
00:23:23 --> 00:23:28 no. I am going redder by the minute. No, that's
00:23:28 --> 00:23:31 my fault. Apparently anger. Yeah, Count Duckula.
00:23:32 --> 00:23:35 Dookula. That's what you need. Dookula. You ever
00:23:35 --> 00:23:37 watch that? I'm gonna feed the Dukes. No, I've
00:23:37 --> 00:23:39 never heard of it, I don't think. Oh my god,
00:23:39 --> 00:23:42 this is one of those cartoons in I wanna say
00:23:42 --> 00:23:45 the 90s that had no right to be as good as it
00:23:45 --> 00:23:50 was, you know? and see do I have okay this isn't
00:23:50 --> 00:23:54 doing it Disney Nickelodeon I want to say I'll
00:23:54 --> 00:23:56 end up having to Google it I'll email you about
00:23:56 --> 00:24:00 it but um it's I want to say it was like the
00:24:00 --> 00:24:03 guys doing um oh I'm gonna have to look it up
00:24:03 --> 00:24:06 oh it is a British animation um what else do
00:24:06 --> 00:24:10 they do Danger Mouse. That was it. Okay. Yeah.
00:24:10 --> 00:24:12 Here is what I wanted to show you about it is
00:24:12 --> 00:24:14 are you wearing something like this? Maybe, you
00:24:14 --> 00:24:18 know, maybe without the color. No, I'll take
00:24:18 --> 00:24:21 the color. Do you want the color? Yeah. Yeah.
00:24:21 --> 00:24:23 Yeah. Do you want it in black? This, this is
00:24:23 --> 00:24:26 interesting because it is like, he's like a Butler
00:24:26 --> 00:24:30 or like what the bow tie, the red bow tie with
00:24:30 --> 00:24:34 the single button jacket is very, is giving very
00:24:34 --> 00:24:38 like. a butler or like chauffeur, but then he's
00:24:38 --> 00:24:39 got the Dracula cape. But then he has Dracula
00:24:39 --> 00:24:41 cape. So you could use that as a kind of like
00:24:41 --> 00:24:43 you're one of the people, but you're not. You
00:24:43 --> 00:24:47 know, it's a nice mix. Yes. And yeah, just like
00:24:47 --> 00:24:50 the duck, I'll go no pants. No pants. Right.
00:24:51 --> 00:24:54 I insist you're wearing boxers. Yeah, I'll do
00:24:54 --> 00:24:58 boxer briefs. OK, perfect. Yeah. They will stick
00:24:58 --> 00:25:01 with that. It's a warm country. Now that your
00:25:01 --> 00:25:04 country is set up in all the ways. It needs to
00:25:04 --> 00:25:07 be. Here's some questions for previous. You know
00:25:07 --> 00:25:09 how it obviously has one of the best education,
00:25:09 --> 00:25:11 health care, medicine, mental health, stuff like
00:25:11 --> 00:25:14 that in the world, right? It does? Yeah, absolutely.
00:25:14 --> 00:25:17 It's your island. I've said that over 100 times
00:25:17 --> 00:25:20 now, but you have the best island. I want to
00:25:20 --> 00:25:22 know what unusual list is your country top of?
00:25:23 --> 00:25:28 Unusual list? Yes. We're number one in catering.
00:25:28 --> 00:25:32 How exciting. Well, that's exciting for us. It's
00:25:32 --> 00:25:35 a point of pride, actually. What made you choose
00:25:35 --> 00:25:40 catering? It's an unusual list. It is. It is.
00:25:44 --> 00:25:49 I imagine. So here's the thing to jump ahead
00:25:49 --> 00:25:51 a little bit into my vision for this island.
00:25:51 --> 00:25:54 Most of my notes are surrounding the fact that
00:25:54 --> 00:25:58 I would like there to be a nonstop festivals.
00:25:58 --> 00:26:01 on the island. Oh, your party town. OK. Yeah.
00:26:02 --> 00:26:05 Yeah. Which requires a good amount of catering.
00:26:05 --> 00:26:10 Yeah. Can I can I ask is on your island is catering
00:26:10 --> 00:26:14 a sport? Yes, there is a competitive society
00:26:14 --> 00:26:19 of caterers. Yeah. Nice. OK. Very shadowy. Is
00:26:19 --> 00:26:20 that your national sport or do you have a different
00:26:20 --> 00:26:23 one? Yeah. Yeah. We have a different sort of
00:26:23 --> 00:26:26 definition of the word sport. So catering is
00:26:26 --> 00:26:29 our number is our national sport. Yeah. Okay.
00:26:29 --> 00:26:31 Explain. I have to explain. Well, how would you
00:26:31 --> 00:26:34 have a different definition of sport? Well, we
00:26:34 --> 00:26:37 don't do any, anything that requires, uh, we
00:26:37 --> 00:26:41 don't do any of those like footballs and basketballs
00:26:41 --> 00:26:43 or anything like that. It's more of a culture
00:26:43 --> 00:26:47 of, yeah, competitive, uh, excellence, but not
00:26:47 --> 00:26:51 physical. Oh, okay. Okay. Um, My God, you're
00:26:51 --> 00:26:58 a nerd. Creative. Yeah. OK, so nothing nothing
00:26:58 --> 00:27:01 physical in this. It's all it's all. By the way,
00:27:01 --> 00:27:03 I should have mentioned the reason why I asked
00:27:03 --> 00:27:05 about official official robes or what you're
00:27:05 --> 00:27:08 wearing. Now, obviously, people can't wear your
00:27:08 --> 00:27:12 your suit with the high collar and stuff. But
00:27:12 --> 00:27:15 people do like to like follow the leader, right?
00:27:15 --> 00:27:20 The trends. So people probably are. mostly not
00:27:20 --> 00:27:21 wearing pants. You're okay with that, right?
00:27:22 --> 00:27:24 Yeah, but they can't wear capes. No, no, no,
00:27:24 --> 00:27:28 no, the capes off limits, but the boxer briefs
00:27:28 --> 00:27:32 are on limits. Yeah. Okay. Okay. So we have catering
00:27:32 --> 00:27:35 as the number one caterers in the world. Are
00:27:35 --> 00:27:37 you a good caterer? Me personally? No, that's
00:27:37 --> 00:27:40 why I admire it so much. Oh yeah. But on the
00:27:40 --> 00:27:42 island, you don't try and partake in the sport.
00:27:43 --> 00:27:45 No, no, no. I do judge the competitions. I'll
00:27:45 --> 00:27:47 show up and I'll give a little keynote speech
00:27:47 --> 00:27:49 and all that. Oh, sweet. Okay. There is a harsh
00:27:49 --> 00:27:51 question, a much harsher question than any task
00:27:51 --> 00:27:54 though, because your approval rating, I'm going
00:27:54 --> 00:27:56 to say for the first time ever, for no particular
00:27:56 --> 00:27:58 reason, your approval rating is 100%. There's
00:27:58 --> 00:28:00 not a man in the country. Not, it never happened.
00:28:01 --> 00:28:04 Well, I vetted everyone myself. Exactly. Not
00:28:04 --> 00:28:06 a man, woman, child, anyone in the country has
00:28:06 --> 00:28:09 a problem with you. However, that time has passed.
00:28:10 --> 00:28:12 Your, your approval rating has gone down. Time
00:28:12 --> 00:28:17 for the culling. Time to start culling. Okay.
00:28:17 --> 00:28:20 Let me finish. Your approval rating has gone
00:28:20 --> 00:28:24 down to 99%. I wish I was really good at math
00:28:24 --> 00:28:27 so I could do 1 % of a million. I want to say
00:28:27 --> 00:28:30 it's a thousand. Oh, I think it's a hundred thousand.
00:28:30 --> 00:28:34 Or that's 10%. 10 . Okay. So 10 people
00:28:34 --> 00:28:36 are not happy with you and they're all in the
00:28:36 --> 00:28:39 one street, town. Totally unrelated coincidence.
00:28:40 --> 00:28:44 I've culled 10 people. Okay. Another 10
00:28:44 --> 00:28:46 who are married to those 10 people
00:28:46 --> 00:28:50 are unhappy. Just before we get to, for some
00:28:50 --> 00:28:51 reason, they're not worried about the culling.
00:28:51 --> 00:28:54 They know that happens, but they are still mad
00:28:54 --> 00:28:57 about the controversy that caused it because
00:28:57 --> 00:28:58 every political leader has a scandal. And I'm
00:28:58 --> 00:29:00 wondering what yours is. You get to pick it.
00:29:00 --> 00:29:04 What would you do that would make you 10
00:29:04 --> 00:29:07 people? Yeah, I do. I do love that you get to
00:29:07 --> 00:29:12 pick your own scandal. Yeah. So I need a flaw
00:29:12 --> 00:29:20 here. Ego could be one. I need a flaw. It can't
00:29:20 --> 00:29:23 be that I'm culling people. This is a no. It's
00:29:23 --> 00:29:24 not secret. That's not a scandal because people
00:29:24 --> 00:29:26 know that it happens. No, people are weirdly
00:29:26 --> 00:29:29 OK with that. Yeah, no, no. And to be fair, there
00:29:29 --> 00:29:31 was 10 people on Happy YouTube about the
00:29:31 --> 00:29:33 scandal that you culled. The next 10 people
00:29:33 --> 00:29:35 went, huh, actually, that scandal is a problem.
00:29:35 --> 00:29:43 So you need to tell me that original one. Okay.
00:29:43 --> 00:29:49 Um, yeah, a lot of the meat in the, um, a lot
00:29:49 --> 00:29:55 of the meat it's actually soy product. And you
00:29:55 --> 00:29:57 knew this and like, did you cause this? Oh, actually.
00:29:57 --> 00:30:00 Okay. So the meat fake meat is what you've been
00:30:00 --> 00:30:03 telling the people selling to people. Yeah. Yeah,
00:30:03 --> 00:30:06 you don't seem bothered by it. I'm not, no. You
00:30:06 --> 00:30:09 seem proud of anything. OK, the question is,
00:30:09 --> 00:30:12 though, or one of your advisors would say is,
00:30:12 --> 00:30:15 look, meat, fake meat gate is blowing up. We
00:30:15 --> 00:30:18 can only cull so many at a time. Let me flip
00:30:18 --> 00:30:21 it. Can I flip it? I'm so sorry to interrupt.
00:30:21 --> 00:30:24 Absolutely. Absolutely. I'm going to say that
00:30:24 --> 00:30:29 a lot of the supposedly imitation meat turns
00:30:29 --> 00:30:35 out to be meal meat. Oh, good God. Okay. So about
00:30:35 --> 00:30:38 that happening. I feel like that's a more interesting
00:30:38 --> 00:30:41 problem. That's a bit of a problem. Okay. So
00:30:41 --> 00:30:45 there was 10 vegans, right? Or vegetarians
00:30:45 --> 00:30:49 who've been devouring real chickens without knowing.
00:30:49 --> 00:30:52 One of your advisors said, look, we can't cull
00:30:52 --> 00:30:54 our way out of every problem. We're going to
00:30:54 --> 00:30:56 have to face it head on. He's given you two options.
00:30:56 --> 00:30:59 Will you go on to the Nightly News, a live news
00:30:59 --> 00:31:01 debate with the top journalist in town called
00:31:01 --> 00:31:05 Anderson? Or do you want to go to a live interview
00:31:05 --> 00:31:09 with a journalist who's actually a propaganda,
00:31:09 --> 00:31:11 you know, he's all pro, pro -previous Leon? OK,
00:31:12 --> 00:31:17 so the pro Leon would be, yeah, he's just going
00:31:17 --> 00:31:20 to spin it for me. Oh, he'll help you spin it.
00:31:20 --> 00:31:22 You give your interview and he'll help you out.
00:31:22 --> 00:31:24 The other fellow is an honest journalist. Yeah,
00:31:24 --> 00:31:27 I'll talk to the honest journalist. Really? Okay.
00:31:27 --> 00:31:30 All right. Okay. So what we'll do is we'll improvise
00:31:30 --> 00:31:32 this. Anderson is going to be sitting across
00:31:32 --> 00:31:34 from you like Frost versus Nixon. And he's going
00:31:34 --> 00:31:36 to say, thank you very much. Welcome back to
00:31:36 --> 00:31:39 the show. I am here with the esteemed and glorious,
00:31:40 --> 00:31:42 just side note, how are you at compliments? Do
00:31:42 --> 00:31:44 you want me to compliment you or do you like
00:31:44 --> 00:31:47 them? You're asking Leon or you're asking? I'm
00:31:47 --> 00:31:50 asking James. Uh, yeah, go ahead and compliment
00:31:50 --> 00:31:54 me. Yeah. Okay. You're great. Um, okay. Anderson
00:31:54 --> 00:31:56 is like, we're here. We're here with the esteemed
00:31:56 --> 00:31:58 Leon of previous. Thank you very much for coming,
00:31:58 --> 00:32:00 Leon. Thanks so much for having me. I wish you
00:32:00 --> 00:32:03 were under better circumstances. Oh, me too.
00:32:03 --> 00:32:07 I just need to make sure. Your legs. Are they
00:32:07 --> 00:32:10 wide out with confidence? Are they Sharon Stone
00:32:10 --> 00:32:12 basic instinct? Oh, I'm Aaron out. Yeah. You're
00:32:12 --> 00:32:15 Aaron. OK, well, we all are. We're all. Knees
00:32:15 --> 00:32:19 are at a 90 degree angle. Perfect. Knees akimbo.
00:32:19 --> 00:32:22 Legs akimbo. That's it. Jesus. We need to talk
00:32:22 --> 00:32:26 about fake meat gate. It's it's it's. Yeah. The
00:32:26 --> 00:32:28 culling machine has has grown to a halt because
00:32:28 --> 00:32:31 of this. So we need to ask you, first of all,
00:32:31 --> 00:32:34 why? Why? Why lie to the people for so long?
00:32:35 --> 00:32:38 What caused this? Well. This was unfortunately
00:32:38 --> 00:32:42 only brought to my attention more recently and
00:32:42 --> 00:32:45 has been going on much longer than I actually
00:32:45 --> 00:32:48 had knowledge of, so. But this is your government.
00:32:49 --> 00:32:53 That's right. So for me, just personally on an
00:32:53 --> 00:32:56 accountability front, I was unaware for a long
00:32:56 --> 00:32:59 time, but only recently have been, well, hiding
00:32:59 --> 00:33:01 the truth knowingly while I figure out what to
00:33:01 --> 00:33:04 do. But now I'm here to clear the air. Okay,
00:33:04 --> 00:33:06 so you were unaware. So you're saying you're
00:33:06 --> 00:33:08 taking accountability for the fact that you aren't
00:33:08 --> 00:33:09 accountable because you didn't know what was
00:33:09 --> 00:33:11 happening. So who was accountable? Thank you.
00:33:11 --> 00:33:16 Well, the meat industry are meat guys. Right,
00:33:16 --> 00:33:19 the meat industry, who are also working on bringing
00:33:19 --> 00:33:22 Kim Jong -il back from the dead. Yes. Yes. Okay.
00:33:22 --> 00:33:24 They have. Oh God. They got to do it now without
00:33:24 --> 00:33:28 invading anybody though. So they, you know. They're
00:33:28 --> 00:33:31 making trade agreements. Okay, so we could have
00:33:31 --> 00:33:33 that in the next commercial break, see how that's
00:33:33 --> 00:33:36 going. But the issue is, if you are agreeing
00:33:36 --> 00:33:38 with that this is a problem, which you sound
00:33:38 --> 00:33:40 like you are agreeing that this is a terrible
00:33:40 --> 00:33:43 mistake, why call 10 people because of it?
00:33:43 --> 00:33:45 Did you not agree with them? Did you not like
00:33:45 --> 00:33:50 their attitudes? Yeah, I feel like people sometimes
00:33:50 --> 00:33:54 get a little too riled up about problems that
00:33:54 --> 00:34:00 we can solve through conversation and working
00:34:00 --> 00:34:02 together to just take things in a new direction.
00:34:03 --> 00:34:06 And some people are a bigger problem than all
00:34:06 --> 00:34:08 that. Right, but they were unhappy about eating
00:34:08 --> 00:34:12 bunny rabbits. Well, we have an overpopulation
00:34:12 --> 00:34:16 problem with bunnies. So kill them and then class
00:34:16 --> 00:34:18 them as fake meat. Yeah, well, it turns out,
00:34:18 --> 00:34:23 we learn things every... Every day of every year
00:34:23 --> 00:34:27 that we're on this new Otherwise utopian island
00:34:27 --> 00:34:29 and this is this is one glaring flaw that we
00:34:29 --> 00:34:32 do have to change but it turns out bunny rabbits
00:34:32 --> 00:34:39 are an invasive species and Just you know do
00:34:39 --> 00:34:43 what bunnies do and copulate and multiply so
00:34:43 --> 00:34:45 you So wait, are you saying that you're gonna
00:34:45 --> 00:34:47 continue like killing them for their delicious
00:34:47 --> 00:34:51 meat? Yes. Yes. Okay, but we will label it correctly
00:34:51 --> 00:34:57 as fresh bunny rabbit and we will ask that consumers
00:34:57 --> 00:35:00 do buy the meat because it's we're going to put
00:35:00 --> 00:35:02 it on the shelf one way or another and so you
00:35:02 --> 00:35:06 know overpopulation of bunny problem turns into
00:35:06 --> 00:35:09 overstock of meats and then that turns into waste
00:35:09 --> 00:35:12 and and you don't want that um okay i have you
00:35:12 --> 00:35:15 do you plan on apologizing to the 10 000 widows
00:35:17 --> 00:35:19 These are the people these are the people that
00:35:19 --> 00:35:21 I called. Yeah. No, no, no, they're their widows.
00:35:21 --> 00:35:25 They're their spouses. Yeah Yeah, well, I wouldn't
00:35:25 --> 00:35:27 laugh on like TV about that question, but you
00:35:27 --> 00:35:31 do you that's Well, I'm just it's now, you know,
00:35:31 --> 00:35:35 I gotta talk to my color I Gotta talk to I gotta
00:35:35 --> 00:35:38 talk to my culling department because oh, yeah,
00:35:38 --> 00:35:42 it's again Only just now coming to my attention
00:35:42 --> 00:35:45 that when we call people They have relatives.
00:35:45 --> 00:35:48 Yeah, they were killing them. Oh, wait, what?
00:35:49 --> 00:35:51 Sorry, you've just realized after getting rid
00:35:51 --> 00:35:53 of, oh well, I was going to say getting rid of
00:35:53 --> 00:35:55 nine million people, but I suppose we were sending
00:35:55 --> 00:35:58 them back. But you just realized now culling
00:35:58 --> 00:36:02 means death. When does it ever mean anything
00:36:02 --> 00:36:04 else? Is that a minor problem? I don't know.
00:36:04 --> 00:36:07 I thought culling was just like removing. It
00:36:07 --> 00:36:08 was like weeding out. Now we don't know. Oh,
00:36:08 --> 00:36:11 I was very convinced that it meant murder. So
00:36:11 --> 00:36:14 I never showed up. I was convinced the other
00:36:14 --> 00:36:16 way. So one of us is, is right. And we're both,
00:36:16 --> 00:36:19 we're having doubts and that's totally normal.
00:36:19 --> 00:36:22 And you learn new things and then you apply that
00:36:22 --> 00:36:24 new knowledge. And that's the position that I'm
00:36:24 --> 00:36:28 in right now. And this meet gate situation. I
00:36:28 --> 00:36:30 got it. I'm having a complete existential crisis.
00:36:30 --> 00:36:33 Yes. The side effect. Let's not call it a B story
00:36:33 --> 00:36:35 because it might actually be the more important
00:36:35 --> 00:36:39 thing. These cold citizens and their widows.
00:36:39 --> 00:36:42 Maybe they're beat story. Come on. Let's not
00:36:42 --> 00:36:45 beat around the bush. They were, they don't have
00:36:45 --> 00:36:46 much money. Uh, okay. We're going to go for a
00:36:46 --> 00:36:49 break until I figure out culling. Um, okay. Yeah,
00:36:49 --> 00:36:52 this is great. It goes for a break. You flummoxed
00:36:52 --> 00:36:58 me. All I do is, is a show that we're just, we're
00:36:58 --> 00:37:00 both flawed humans and we're capable of making
00:37:00 --> 00:37:03 mistakes. We're just people. Uh, Anderson hugs
00:37:03 --> 00:37:05 you. Uh, he also while going in for a hug, he's,
00:37:05 --> 00:37:08 would you, would you hug him back? Yeah. Oh,
00:37:08 --> 00:37:10 nice. He says, look, we're going to do, well,
00:37:10 --> 00:37:13 your propaganda man sent me a note and said he's
00:37:13 --> 00:37:14 doing a documentary about you. He just wants
00:37:14 --> 00:37:17 to know what fantastical fact should we put into
00:37:17 --> 00:37:19 the movie? Something mythical? About you. Anything
00:37:19 --> 00:37:21 you want. We can make it up if you want, is what
00:37:21 --> 00:37:24 he said. Gotcha. Yeah, he can hold his breath
00:37:24 --> 00:37:27 for an hour. For exactly one hour. That's amazing.
00:37:27 --> 00:37:29 Have you ever used that? Have you ever used that
00:37:29 --> 00:37:32 for any use in any useful situation? Culling
00:37:32 --> 00:37:36 people into the water you go. I can stay hammered.
00:37:36 --> 00:37:38 Yeah. Well, um, you know, it's, uh, again, I
00:37:38 --> 00:37:41 guess it's, that is a sport, breath holding in
00:37:41 --> 00:37:46 the previous culture. And, uh, although it is
00:37:46 --> 00:37:49 quite physical, so, you know, it's kind of a
00:37:49 --> 00:37:53 cusp thing, but yeah, I, I have, uh, competed
00:37:53 --> 00:37:56 in underwater breathing, no underwater holding
00:37:56 --> 00:38:01 my breath. Underwater breathing, totally different
00:38:01 --> 00:38:03 skill. You actually come last if you do that
00:38:03 --> 00:38:06 in underwater, hold your breath. You said the
00:38:06 --> 00:38:11 previous culture. Oh, now I get it. The culture
00:38:11 --> 00:38:16 of previous. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I know it's annoying
00:38:16 --> 00:38:18 that that word exists and it has its own meaning.
00:38:18 --> 00:38:21 There you go. Yeah. That's yeah. I thought you
00:38:21 --> 00:38:23 were turning into like the architect and the
00:38:23 --> 00:38:26 matrix and you had a previous culture on previous
00:38:26 --> 00:38:28 and there. Okay. Yeah. No, it works. There is
00:38:28 --> 00:38:31 a knock on your door when you get back home.
00:38:31 --> 00:38:33 Okay. Knock, knock, knock. Knock, knock, knock.
00:38:33 --> 00:38:36 Oh, hello. Can I come in? Are you opening the
00:38:36 --> 00:38:39 door? Yeah. I'll open the door with the chain
00:38:39 --> 00:38:43 lock on it. Oh, hello. Hello. It's Paul, your
00:38:43 --> 00:38:45 finance person. I'm going to get right. Oh, Paul.
00:38:45 --> 00:38:47 Geez. Yeah. Sorry. With all this meat gate stuff,
00:38:47 --> 00:38:49 I'm a little on edge. Come on. Oh, hey, I plenty
00:38:49 --> 00:38:53 of meat gate here. He strides in very. Yeah.
00:38:54 --> 00:38:57 He said, look, I have something to tell you.
00:38:58 --> 00:39:00 It's good news, though. It's just so good news.
00:39:00 --> 00:39:03 I need to tell you. I'm your finance person.
00:39:03 --> 00:39:06 As you know, I've taken a look at the financials
00:39:06 --> 00:39:09 for this country of previous. Turns out we have
00:39:09 --> 00:39:12 a lot of money. We have 10 billion as surplus
00:39:12 --> 00:39:17 Your birthday is coming up as you know the people
00:39:17 --> 00:39:21 of previous the ones who are still left They
00:39:21 --> 00:39:24 would like to build a world wonder in your honor
00:39:24 --> 00:39:26 to celebrate previous put us on the map literally
00:39:26 --> 00:39:28 on them Well, we're already on the map, but like
00:39:28 --> 00:39:30 figuratively, but they're not very creative.
00:39:30 --> 00:39:32 What should we build? What were wonder would
00:39:32 --> 00:39:36 you want? World wonder it will be named after
00:39:36 --> 00:39:42 you Okay Can it be underground? So have you seen
00:39:42 --> 00:39:47 Silo? No. How about that? It's kind of like the
00:39:47 --> 00:39:51 matrix too. So this is what I want to do. I want
00:39:51 --> 00:39:57 to take this island and give it some roots. I
00:39:57 --> 00:40:01 want to burrow down into the earth and create
00:40:01 --> 00:40:07 a sort of like pillar column in the center of
00:40:07 --> 00:40:11 a giant underground cave city. So you're building
00:40:11 --> 00:40:16 a new, new country, new, new part of previous.
00:40:16 --> 00:40:19 Yeah, look, it's, it's gorgeous up top. We just,
00:40:19 --> 00:40:24 you know, there's hurricane season and the, you
00:40:24 --> 00:40:28 know, this Kim Jong, Kim Jong Il, uh, situation.
00:40:28 --> 00:40:29 We just want to make sure that we have a contingency
00:40:29 --> 00:40:36 plan if things go upside down. So you're building
00:40:36 --> 00:40:38 a new underground, I was going to say underground,
00:40:38 --> 00:40:42 but it's it's under art city. It's underground.
00:40:42 --> 00:40:49 All right. What are we naming that? Yeah. Didn't
00:40:49 --> 00:40:53 think of that, did you? Next time. Next time.
00:40:54 --> 00:40:56 Oh, all right. Very good. Previous and next time.
00:40:56 --> 00:40:58 OK. Do you only the wealthy go down there? Wait,
00:40:58 --> 00:41:01 is that like inhabited or is it just in case
00:41:01 --> 00:41:03 art thing? It's all set up, ready to go. Well,
00:41:03 --> 00:41:04 we're going to we're going to build it and then
00:41:04 --> 00:41:06 people can migrate down there and it kind of
00:41:06 --> 00:41:08 be like summer homes. Well, it won't be summer
00:41:08 --> 00:41:10 homes because summer is good. Yeah. Yeah. Where
00:41:10 --> 00:41:13 we want to go up top. But seasonal, seasonal.
00:41:14 --> 00:41:17 Who's who's going to want to go there? Like apart
00:41:17 --> 00:41:19 from visits and then you tell you look me in
00:41:19 --> 00:41:21 the eye and tell me that you don't you don't
00:41:21 --> 00:41:24 want to go to an underground city and just see
00:41:24 --> 00:41:27 what it's like for a visit. I'm not going to
00:41:27 --> 00:41:30 live there. Well, you don't know that you don't
00:41:30 --> 00:41:32 know that yet. Yeah, that's how it's done. It's
00:41:32 --> 00:41:34 going to be gorgeous. OK. All right. I'm just
00:41:34 --> 00:41:37 trying to figure out what is the world situation.
00:41:37 --> 00:41:41 That air quality is going to be immaculate. It's
00:41:41 --> 00:41:45 going to be warm. Oh, no, no, no. No. Central
00:41:45 --> 00:41:49 air. It'd be cool. Central air in the whole thing.
00:41:49 --> 00:41:52 Yeah. And insulated, well insulated. OK. Yeah.
00:41:53 --> 00:41:56 Re -circulated air. Sounds like you have the
00:41:56 --> 00:41:58 schematics there in that notebook. I won't argue
00:41:58 --> 00:42:01 it is all. Yeah, we're going to build that. Paul
00:42:01 --> 00:42:03 is like, perfect. Ten billion will certainly
00:42:03 --> 00:42:07 do it. And he leaves. By the way, is there any
00:42:07 --> 00:42:13 film industry? Do you allow tourists when you
00:42:13 --> 00:42:14 say spend money to make like, will tourists be
00:42:14 --> 00:42:17 allowed to go there? Yeah, I think most of our
00:42:17 --> 00:42:21 economy is going to be based on tourism. Catering.
00:42:21 --> 00:42:27 Yes, yes. And these festivals. Yeah. Yeah. I
00:42:27 --> 00:42:30 think most of, so I think film is totally fine.
00:42:30 --> 00:42:33 I think most of it's going to be music festivals
00:42:33 --> 00:42:40 and, um, uh, theater festivals. And this is an
00:42:40 --> 00:42:42 important one. I don't want to, I don't want
00:42:42 --> 00:42:47 to let this one get by every summer. Do you,
00:42:47 --> 00:42:51 do you know the show survivor? I'm aware of it.
00:42:51 --> 00:42:57 Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So every summer everybody participates
00:42:57 --> 00:43:01 in a countrywide survivor tournament. So like
00:43:01 --> 00:43:04 a million, sorry, nine hundred thousand nine,
00:43:04 --> 00:43:06 nine hundred and ninety nine thousand nine hundred
00:43:06 --> 00:43:10 something like that. People. Yeah. The people
00:43:10 --> 00:43:12 who are left. The people who are left. Yeah,
00:43:12 --> 00:43:17 I tried to be clever. So you're telling me the
00:43:17 --> 00:43:20 people who are left are going to all partake
00:43:20 --> 00:43:25 in Previous survivor. Yes. Yeah, very good. Okay.
00:43:26 --> 00:43:30 Everybody everybody has to participate in a Yeah,
00:43:30 --> 00:43:34 countrywide Tournament everybody that's why so
00:43:34 --> 00:43:37 I know we put a little blip on the map in on
00:43:37 --> 00:43:40 Google Maps Yes, but I really am picturing this
00:43:40 --> 00:43:45 to be more like the size of Madagascar or yeah,
00:43:45 --> 00:43:47 New Zealand like that's Yeah, it's a plenty of
00:43:47 --> 00:43:49 rooms. That's why I always take dinner. Even
00:43:49 --> 00:43:51 if you said I wanted 50 million people, we're
00:43:51 --> 00:43:53 just saying you have plenty of room. There's
00:43:53 --> 00:43:56 no no panicking. Yeah. Yeah. However many camps
00:43:56 --> 00:44:02 it takes to have, you know, tens of thousands
00:44:02 --> 00:44:06 of concurrent. Yes. Survivor situations until
00:44:06 --> 00:44:10 it gets whittled down to, you know, semifinals
00:44:10 --> 00:44:12 and finals. And eventually it's like it's kind
00:44:12 --> 00:44:16 of like the Hunger Games, but. You it's you know,
00:44:16 --> 00:44:21 there's you're not gonna die. Yeah And The winner
00:44:21 --> 00:44:25 really does win a million dollars and also there's
00:44:25 --> 00:44:28 like, you know, it's like it's also like a a
00:44:28 --> 00:44:31 sports tournament or like a you know tennis or
00:44:31 --> 00:44:34 something where golf where like you get prizes
00:44:34 --> 00:44:39 cash prizes for progressing Next round next round.
00:44:39 --> 00:44:42 Oh, very good. Okay, who are you hosting it or
00:44:42 --> 00:44:44 who's hosting us? I just need to want to. Oh,
00:44:45 --> 00:44:47 man, that's a great question. You know what?
00:44:48 --> 00:44:51 I'll host it. You're not. You got to have. You
00:44:51 --> 00:44:54 got to have. You got to have multiple hosts.
00:44:54 --> 00:44:57 Well, it wouldn't be fair for me to. I mean,
00:44:58 --> 00:45:01 if I put you on the jury, I mean, I'm already
00:45:01 --> 00:45:03 calling people like, yeah, people. People are
00:45:03 --> 00:45:08 going to be swayed. unfairly to vote vote me.
00:45:08 --> 00:45:10 That's true. If you're already calling. Yeah.
00:45:10 --> 00:45:13 Yeah. OK. So, yeah, I'll help post. But because
00:45:13 --> 00:45:16 there's so many rounds of it going on at the
00:45:16 --> 00:45:18 same time, I mean, it's going to have to have
00:45:18 --> 00:45:24 multiple hosts. Oh, it's. Yeah. When it gets
00:45:24 --> 00:45:26 to finals, I'll do that. I thought there would
00:45:26 --> 00:45:29 be a like previous poll show as well. You know,
00:45:29 --> 00:45:31 like the late like after the show where like
00:45:31 --> 00:45:34 they sit down as well. Right. Like a talkback.
00:45:34 --> 00:45:36 Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Okay.
00:45:37 --> 00:45:39 Do you want any celebrity to do to do that? Sure.
00:45:40 --> 00:45:44 To host it. Hmm. I mean, look, I'll have Jeff
00:45:44 --> 00:45:48 Probst do it if it's not a, um, it might, it
00:45:48 --> 00:45:51 might be a compete, not no compete clause for
00:45:51 --> 00:45:54 him. Right. Yeah. But, you know, our, our country
00:45:54 --> 00:45:57 just doesn't recognize like the same kind of
00:45:57 --> 00:45:59 IP and, and all that. No, they can't, their copyright
00:45:59 --> 00:46:02 laws can't, can't touch you there in previous.
00:46:02 --> 00:46:07 Um, Okay. Before I move on to another question,
00:46:07 --> 00:46:11 I just want to throw this out to you. Maybe one
00:46:11 --> 00:46:13 of the years. Do you want to try and convince
00:46:13 --> 00:46:15 the celebrities come along to, like, take part
00:46:15 --> 00:46:17 in the show? You know, it might be a nice little
00:46:17 --> 00:46:19 gimmick. Or do you just feel like, no, the regular
00:46:19 --> 00:46:26 people? I think people... There's probably going
00:46:26 --> 00:46:30 to be... Look, here's the thing. For the country
00:46:30 --> 00:46:35 -wide survivor, the people who can... be involved
00:46:35 --> 00:46:42 is anybody. Anyone. Yeah. You don't have to have
00:46:42 --> 00:46:46 residency, but you do have to be, yeah, let's
00:46:46 --> 00:46:51 make it that. Anybody can compete. You submit
00:46:51 --> 00:46:56 interest and obviously you say things like your
00:46:56 --> 00:47:07 age and your, what do you love about? But yeah,
00:47:07 --> 00:47:09 anybody can submit and then we pretty much accept
00:47:09 --> 00:47:11 anybody to come on the island and then participate.
00:47:12 --> 00:47:13 But it doesn't have to be people who live there
00:47:13 --> 00:47:14 or anything. So I imagine we're going to end
00:47:14 --> 00:47:17 up with celebrities and whatnot, just like the
00:47:17 --> 00:47:19 real survivor occasionally will end up with people
00:47:19 --> 00:47:23 like Mike White or people of other fame. What's
00:47:23 --> 00:47:26 his name? John Lovitz. John Lovitz. Yeah, John
00:47:26 --> 00:47:28 Lovitz. Yeah, Lovitz. Now, one of them, one of
00:47:28 --> 00:47:31 them's an old SNL member and the other one is
00:47:31 --> 00:47:37 a co -host of Pod Save America. John Lovitz is
00:47:37 --> 00:47:40 on your. Yeah, your survival show. I'm telling
00:47:40 --> 00:47:43 you now. Both of them are there. They're both
00:47:43 --> 00:47:46 there and they're both in the same tent. Yeah.
00:47:46 --> 00:47:49 They both have to work it out. Okay. Okay. I'll
00:47:49 --> 00:47:52 move on from previous Survivor, but I'm assuming
00:47:52 --> 00:47:54 that's a smash hit across the world. Like we
00:47:54 --> 00:47:56 are glued to that. Yeah, but I love that even
00:47:56 --> 00:47:58 too, is like because there's so many people we
00:47:58 --> 00:48:01 just find like creative ways to... uh, lump people
00:48:01 --> 00:48:03 together for like the prelims. And one of them
00:48:03 --> 00:48:08 is like, this is the love it's yeah. People who
00:48:08 --> 00:48:11 are last name is love it or people who are obsessed
00:48:11 --> 00:48:15 with, with John love it's, uh, yeah, this is
00:48:15 --> 00:48:19 the love it season of survivor over here. Uh,
00:48:19 --> 00:48:23 this is a global phenomenon, right? Um, so this
00:48:23 --> 00:48:26 is making you a lot of money as well. Uh, speaking
00:48:26 --> 00:48:27 of that though, there is a knock on your door
00:48:27 --> 00:48:30 again. Knock, knock, knock. Hello. When you open
00:48:30 --> 00:48:32 the door to say hello. The chain's there, the
00:48:32 --> 00:48:34 chain's there, but I'm opening it to say hello.
00:48:35 --> 00:48:38 Once again, Paul is his face in. Paul. Lian,
00:48:38 --> 00:48:40 how are you? I need to speak to you again, if
00:48:40 --> 00:48:42 you don't mind. Can I come in? Yeah, yeah. Sorry
00:48:42 --> 00:48:45 about the locks and everything. You know, it's
00:48:45 --> 00:48:48 survivor season, so I'm just people are hounding
00:48:48 --> 00:48:50 me for this and that and the other. So I was
00:48:50 --> 00:48:53 knocked out. I was knocked out first round. I'm
00:48:53 --> 00:48:58 so sorry. Again, I just let you know that your
00:48:58 --> 00:49:00 next time city is built. It's done. Amazing.
00:49:00 --> 00:49:04 Okay. I'll say it. I already feel like this is
00:49:04 --> 00:49:06 a bit grim. I was going to say it costs 10 billion
00:49:06 --> 00:49:08 because we got a load of North Korean workers
00:49:08 --> 00:49:10 to come over and we don't. Oh no, this is getting
00:49:10 --> 00:49:13 into. Well, did any of them have, did any of
00:49:13 --> 00:49:17 them happen to bring the remains of Kim Jong
00:49:17 --> 00:49:21 -il over? We smuggled out the top part of his
00:49:21 --> 00:49:23 body and we're working on it. We're giving him
00:49:23 --> 00:49:26 legs. Sounds like two birds with one stone. Exactly.
00:49:26 --> 00:49:29 Did you ever watch, are you big into like Star
00:49:29 --> 00:49:33 Wars, Renton? Star Wars? Yeah. I'm familiar with.
00:49:33 --> 00:49:36 Star Trek I know almost nothing about, but Star
00:49:36 --> 00:49:39 Wars, yes. Okay, this might be a terrible reference,
00:49:39 --> 00:49:43 but Dark Maul, I think when he died, didn't there
00:49:43 --> 00:49:45 something in the comics where they gave him like
00:49:45 --> 00:49:48 spider legs or something? What? He's double red
00:49:48 --> 00:49:52 saber? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. You know what?
00:49:52 --> 00:49:54 That does sound familiar. I can picture him on
00:49:54 --> 00:49:57 a like Mojo Jojo. Mojo Jojo? Wait, is that a
00:49:57 --> 00:50:00 weird reference? No, no, I know it. I know it.
00:50:00 --> 00:50:03 It's Mojo. It's not Mojo Jojo. Mojo Jojo is the
00:50:03 --> 00:50:05 Powerpuff Girls. It's the dancer I met once.
00:50:06 --> 00:50:10 Yeah, Mojo Jojo. I fell in love with her that
00:50:10 --> 00:50:16 night. Or like Wild Wild West, the Will Smith.
00:50:16 --> 00:50:20 That's the one. Yeah, yeah with with what's -his
00:50:20 --> 00:50:24 -name Gets the spider legs right like the animatronic
00:50:24 --> 00:50:27 spider legs Rupert yeah, yeah, the big spider
00:50:27 --> 00:50:29 at the end Yes, so we're gonna give can jungle
00:50:29 --> 00:50:31 once we zap his body into existence. We'll give
00:50:31 --> 00:50:33 him that's that's a plot point I'm not gonna
00:50:33 --> 00:50:36 even mention anymore I don't know why, I don't
00:50:36 --> 00:50:39 know why I wasn't thinking about where that thread
00:50:39 --> 00:50:43 of conversation was going, but okay. I got you,
00:50:43 --> 00:50:45 I'm with it. You've done improv, that happens,
00:50:45 --> 00:50:47 right? You have a trade and you're like... Yeah,
00:50:47 --> 00:50:50 totally. Yeah, it's a total diversion and then
00:50:50 --> 00:50:53 you eventually bring it back. Tell you what,
00:50:53 --> 00:50:56 can we decide, if I ever start a Patreon with
00:50:56 --> 00:50:58 bonus episodes, can I get you back for the Kim
00:50:58 --> 00:51:03 Jong -il is on the run? Absolutely. That's fine,
00:51:03 --> 00:51:07 we'll get that. Thank you. Yes, Paul is saying
00:51:07 --> 00:51:09 that we built your next time city underground
00:51:09 --> 00:51:13 and it cost 10 billion. We have Kim Jong Il.
00:51:13 --> 00:51:16 That stuff is not going on there. I just want
00:51:16 --> 00:51:18 to let you know that because I'm going for my
00:51:18 --> 00:51:21 plane. I am going to North Korea for 14 weeks.
00:51:21 --> 00:51:24 I booked up my holidays. I'm celebrating my honeymoon.
00:51:24 --> 00:51:28 Hooray. So, yeah, I just let you know that. You
00:51:28 --> 00:51:30 don't look happy. The only thing that makes me
00:51:30 --> 00:51:33 unhappy is that you would gloss over a honeymoon.
00:51:34 --> 00:51:36 Congratulations, Paul. I'm so happy for you.
00:51:36 --> 00:51:38 Oh, thanks. To be honest, my whole family and
00:51:38 --> 00:51:41 my entire friends never accepted Sheila. So I
00:51:41 --> 00:51:45 just assume nobody likes her. This is going to
00:51:45 --> 00:51:50 get really sad. And I'm just making clear Sheila
00:51:50 --> 00:51:52 is not a substitute for Celine. My family and
00:51:52 --> 00:51:54 friends love her. Anyway, I better go. I just
00:51:54 --> 00:51:56 one last thing. I checked the laptop before I
00:51:56 --> 00:51:58 went. It turns out there was a little minus sign
00:51:58 --> 00:52:01 in front of the 10 billion. You wouldn't even
00:52:01 --> 00:52:03 notice. It costs minus. Wait. What does this
00:52:03 --> 00:52:06 mean? Oh, it means that we never had 10 billion.
00:52:06 --> 00:52:08 We actually were in debt by 10 billion. And now
00:52:08 --> 00:52:10 we've spent 10 billion that we didn't have. So
00:52:10 --> 00:52:14 we're in debt by 20 billion. I got an email from
00:52:14 --> 00:52:16 the International Monetary Fund asking us, how
00:52:16 --> 00:52:17 are you going to start making money? Anyway,
00:52:18 --> 00:52:19 I've got to go for my plane, for my paid vacation,
00:52:20 --> 00:52:22 for my paid honeymoon. So I'll see you later,
00:52:22 --> 00:52:24 Leon. And Paul is leaving, walking out the door.
00:52:25 --> 00:52:31 Paul? Yes, he turns around. Exciting. Sounds
00:52:31 --> 00:52:35 like being $10 billion in debt didn't stop. Well,
00:52:35 --> 00:52:39 initially being $10 billion in debt didn't stop
00:52:39 --> 00:52:42 us from spending another 10 billion. There's
00:52:42 --> 00:52:45 a lot of IOUs. Yeah. So I'm guessing being $20
00:52:45 --> 00:52:49 billion in debt won't stop us from spending another
00:52:49 --> 00:52:51 20 billion. Paul, I want you to enjoy your honeymoon.
00:52:52 --> 00:52:58 Yes. I'm so worried for him for a second. Thanks.
00:52:58 --> 00:53:01 I'll be back in 14 weeks. Paul's a good guy.
00:53:01 --> 00:53:04 You're a good man. Leon's a good man. That's
00:53:04 --> 00:53:06 great. Him and Sheila are going to have time
00:53:06 --> 00:53:08 with our lives. And you know what? I'm going
00:53:08 --> 00:53:10 to say something. I don't know. Are you happy
00:53:10 --> 00:53:12 with this or not? But he's going to say on the
00:53:12 --> 00:53:14 plane, you know, I think I'd like you to meet
00:53:14 --> 00:53:16 my boss. And she said, I've never been more horny
00:53:16 --> 00:53:19 or happier. So they may come for dinner sometime.
00:53:20 --> 00:53:22 Or invite you for dinner. In many ways. Yeah.
00:53:23 --> 00:53:29 Yeah. Yeah. Absolutely. When you said, hey, If
00:53:29 --> 00:53:31 we're 20 billion dead, 10 billion, it's all the
00:53:31 --> 00:53:35 same. I was going to say, well, you are a creative
00:53:35 --> 00:53:38 person, aren't you? You are. Yes. That's the
00:53:38 --> 00:53:41 exact sort of answer a creative man would have.
00:53:41 --> 00:53:43 Yeah, yeah. But you had the International Monetary
00:53:43 --> 00:53:44 Fund. Where are we going to email them back and
00:53:44 --> 00:53:45 say, how are we going to start making money?
00:53:46 --> 00:53:49 Here's the thing about the survivor, countrywide
00:53:49 --> 00:53:53 survivor, is that even though we do, we do pay
00:53:53 --> 00:53:56 people out, but it's a little bit more like a,
00:53:56 --> 00:54:00 you know, a festival in the sense that you pay
00:54:00 --> 00:54:03 to submit, right? So you get paid to be there,
00:54:03 --> 00:54:06 but you also pay to submit. So yeah, that's a
00:54:06 --> 00:54:12 big way to bring in. We got, you know, sponsors.
00:54:12 --> 00:54:15 We raised the fees a little bit, even, just next
00:54:15 --> 00:54:18 to five or on top of it. Yeah, yeah. Oh, OK.
00:54:18 --> 00:54:20 Right. So it's just $1 now to submit is
00:54:20 --> 00:54:24 all. Nice. If you have next time, would you have
00:54:24 --> 00:54:26 them down there as like, oh, this season, this
00:54:26 --> 00:54:29 season on Previous Survivor, we're going to go
00:54:29 --> 00:54:31 crazy. And then they see the giant hole that
00:54:31 --> 00:54:33 they have to abseil down. They're like, my God,
00:54:33 --> 00:54:36 can you imagine the ad for it? Now you're underground.
00:54:37 --> 00:54:41 That's like, yes. Yeah. Underground Survivor.
00:54:41 --> 00:54:44 Underground. Next time, Survivor. It's a big
00:54:44 --> 00:54:47 publicity move for us. Brilliant. Yeah. Brilliant.
00:54:48 --> 00:54:51 OK. To show people why it's so desirable to create
00:54:51 --> 00:54:53 some demand. There was some skeptics, namely
00:54:53 --> 00:54:57 Kevin. When is your birthday? How should people
00:54:57 --> 00:55:02 celebrate you? Ignore me. So you're going to
00:55:02 --> 00:55:04 go around and they just ignore you? Leave me
00:55:04 --> 00:55:07 the f*** alone. Jesus. Leave me the f*** alone.
00:55:08 --> 00:55:10 If it's my birthday, leave me the f*** alone.
00:55:10 --> 00:55:13 Really? What do you do on your birthday? And
00:55:13 --> 00:55:16 even if I'm trying to get your attention, truly,
00:55:17 --> 00:55:20 I promise you, I would love nothing more than
00:55:20 --> 00:55:24 you to just ignore me and eventually I'll stop
00:55:24 --> 00:55:25 and I'll realize that was the right thing to
00:55:25 --> 00:55:31 do. I don't need to be productive, I don't need
00:55:31 --> 00:55:35 to be social, send me home. Okay, I just need
00:55:35 --> 00:55:38 to make sure though, do you drive? Like if you're
00:55:38 --> 00:55:40 driving a car, people are going to have to stop
00:55:40 --> 00:55:41 when you stop as well, right? They don't want
00:55:41 --> 00:55:42 to ram into the back of the car. Yeah, yeah,
00:55:42 --> 00:55:44 yeah. Don't ignore my car, but ignore me. Don't
00:55:44 --> 00:55:46 ignore the car, just the driver. Yeah. That's
00:55:46 --> 00:55:50 how you do it. Okay. Yeah, yeah. Do you know
00:55:50 --> 00:55:52 celebrations of you? No parades or anything?
00:55:52 --> 00:55:55 No. No, OK. No, no, no, no, no, no. Any acknowledgement
00:55:55 --> 00:55:59 of me will lead to immediate execution. Call
00:55:59 --> 00:56:02 it. Fucking hell. You went for execution immediately.
00:56:03 --> 00:56:05 Jesus. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's how serious I
00:56:05 --> 00:56:08 am about it. Give me my space. Right. Even Paul
00:56:08 --> 00:56:11 knows not to ask you out for dinner with Sheila
00:56:11 --> 00:56:14 on that day. Yeah, that's fine. Smart man. Smart
00:56:14 --> 00:56:17 man. OK. Just with the money situation, we kind
00:56:17 --> 00:56:20 of figure maybe we do a nice photo op, right?
00:56:20 --> 00:56:23 You know how Putin will jump on a bear shirtless
00:56:23 --> 00:56:26 and go look at me and people go strong man. Kim
00:56:26 --> 00:56:28 Jong Un would go into a factory and point at
00:56:28 --> 00:56:30 something and go intelligent man. So what would
00:56:30 --> 00:56:32 you do as a photo op to make sure everyone knows
00:56:32 --> 00:56:35 that you're in charge? Leon is still there on
00:56:35 --> 00:56:37 previous. This is related to the money thing.
00:56:37 --> 00:56:39 I'm trying to, I'm trying to like, yeah, yeah.
00:56:39 --> 00:56:40 Just that they were like, look, just to make
00:56:40 --> 00:56:43 sure people don't get the jitters. We'll get
00:56:43 --> 00:56:45 people's attention off of it. Oh yeah. Yeah.
00:56:45 --> 00:56:48 Yeah. Yeah. So I'll take a photo of me in a big
00:56:48 --> 00:56:54 tub of money. Will it coins or? Yeah, yeah, yeah,
00:56:54 --> 00:56:57 yeah. Mixed coins and paper. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:56:57 --> 00:57:01 Mix it up. Yeah. OK, a big tub, a big like jacuzzi,
00:57:01 --> 00:57:03 like a nice fence. Oh, my God, like the Witcher,
00:57:03 --> 00:57:08 like Henry Cavill at the sexy pic he did. Uh.
00:57:09 --> 00:57:11 I'm not familiar. I mean, I know the Witcher
00:57:11 --> 00:57:13 and Henry Cavill, but did he do a photo shoot
00:57:13 --> 00:57:17 for like a magazine or in the world of Witcher?
00:57:17 --> 00:57:19 I think it was in the... They probably don't
00:57:19 --> 00:57:20 have photographs in the Witcher world. Hold on,
00:57:21 --> 00:57:23 I'll get out my... Photographs? I'll get... No,
00:57:23 --> 00:57:26 I'll get out my folder of Henry Cavill pictures
00:57:26 --> 00:57:30 and I'll show you. In this folder marked private.
00:57:32 --> 00:57:34 Don't look, Selene. There you go. Something like
00:57:34 --> 00:57:38 that. But it'll be money instead of... non bubbly
00:57:38 --> 00:57:41 water. It's in the game as well. You can have
00:57:41 --> 00:57:45 the legs up if you want. Yes, definitely. Yep.
00:57:45 --> 00:57:50 All of those angles and with the brim of the
00:57:50 --> 00:57:52 jacuzzi, just like you can see the notes and
00:57:52 --> 00:57:54 money and stuff like that. The notes and the
00:57:54 --> 00:57:57 coins all, yeah, overflowing. This is a popular
00:57:57 --> 00:58:00 calendar for Christmas, I'll tell you that. As
00:58:00 --> 00:58:02 your final question, I have to ask. So at some
00:58:02 --> 00:58:06 point, Leon of previous has to figure out who
00:58:06 --> 00:58:09 their successor is. One condition is you have
00:58:09 --> 00:58:11 to, it has to be someone in real life or someone
00:58:11 --> 00:58:13 like mentioned on the podcast, like Susan, who
00:58:13 --> 00:58:17 never got to join the island. So who'd you pick?
00:58:17 --> 00:58:18 Who would be your heir? It's got to be somebody
00:58:18 --> 00:58:21 we mentioned. We mentioned like five people.
00:58:21 --> 00:58:23 Either mentioned or someone in real life. It's
00:58:23 --> 00:58:29 got to be John, Paul. John Lovitz. Anderson.
00:58:30 --> 00:58:35 The Lovitz. Susan. Yeah, the Lovitz. Oh, yeah.
00:58:35 --> 00:58:38 We'll decide it by a Survivor tournament. So
00:58:38 --> 00:58:42 whoever wins Survivor that year. We'll do we'll
00:58:42 --> 00:58:44 do a contest of winners. So so survivor did this
00:58:44 --> 00:58:47 for season 40 where they had all returning winners
00:58:47 --> 00:58:49 Come back and play against each other. We'll
00:58:49 --> 00:58:54 do that and then So you have to have one? previous
00:58:54 --> 00:58:58 survivor before Mark Zuckerberg was trying to
00:58:58 --> 00:59:00 get on to the next season, but it's too late,
00:59:00 --> 00:59:03 right? Can't do it. You have to yeah, unfortunately,
00:59:03 --> 00:59:07 sorry about that and Okay, Mark Zuckerberg won
00:59:08 --> 00:59:14 Season of Survivor. We somehow out socialed the
00:59:14 --> 00:59:20 rest of everybody. I could have picked any billionaire
00:59:20 --> 00:59:27 there. This guy's a beast. Mark Zuckerberg has
00:59:27 --> 00:59:33 gone on a challenge spree. So you're going to
00:59:33 --> 00:59:35 have the next winner. But when they win. Are
00:59:35 --> 00:59:37 you retiring, or are you going to say you'll
00:59:37 --> 00:59:40 take over when I die? Or are you just retiring
00:59:40 --> 00:59:43 and living a good life? Yeah, I think an over
00:59:43 --> 00:59:46 my dead body kind of thing is, uh, I think probably
00:59:46 --> 00:59:49 when I'm like 70 is probably my cutoff. Is when
00:59:49 --> 00:59:54 you die? Uh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And then there's
00:59:54 --> 00:59:57 the final calling. I'll say 75. What do you mean
00:59:57 --> 01:00:01 final calling? Yeah, it's of myself. Oh, of yourself.
01:00:01 --> 01:00:07 It's like a Mad King situation. OK. OK, so the
01:00:07 --> 01:00:10 winner of Survivor wins this year when you announce
01:00:10 --> 01:00:12 or when you announced a successor and then you
01:00:12 --> 01:00:15 you cease to be and then they are taken over.
01:00:15 --> 01:00:17 And as you said, it's over your dead body. I'm
01:00:17 --> 01:00:19 going to let you know something now. They are
01:00:19 --> 01:00:21 immediately going to say, well, we couldn't we
01:00:21 --> 01:00:24 couldn't quite get Kim Jong Il to work. However,
01:00:24 --> 01:00:28 we have a fresh body here. that we think we can
01:00:28 --> 01:00:31 reanimate. That's perfectly fine. That's totally
01:00:31 --> 01:00:35 fine. That's where that will come back. But other
01:00:35 --> 01:00:38 than that, Leon is no more. Leon is gone. He'll
01:00:38 --> 01:00:41 be a Spider -Man in a while. James, thank you
01:00:41 --> 01:00:44 so much for being the Leon of previous. Oh, my
01:00:44 --> 01:00:47 pleasure. Can I add an addendum here that each
01:00:47 --> 01:00:50 starting with the person who takes over my job
01:00:50 --> 01:00:55 by winning the returning winner's previous survivor
01:00:56 --> 01:01:01 Yes. Every year, there's a new leader. Selected.
01:01:01 --> 01:01:03 Selected through that same process. Oh, brilliant.
01:01:04 --> 01:01:07 And it could be the same person. So the person
01:01:07 --> 01:01:10 in power is eligible to play, but you know they're
01:01:10 --> 01:01:12 going to have a target on their back right from
01:01:12 --> 01:01:15 the get. Oh, no way they're getting into it.
01:01:15 --> 01:01:17 Oh, no, maybe. But if they do, then they really
01:01:17 --> 01:01:19 belong there, right? They deserve it. Yeah. OK,
01:01:19 --> 01:01:22 every year, every year. OK, jeez. OK, yeah, they're
01:01:22 --> 01:01:24 spending most of their year on the show. It's
01:01:24 --> 01:01:28 just one big reality show, right? That's fantastic.
01:01:28 --> 01:01:33 I love it. Your notes. Did we get to any of them?
01:01:33 --> 01:01:40 In any way? Not a single one. Wait, did we? Do
01:01:40 --> 01:01:42 you want to know what they are? Mostly laws.
01:01:42 --> 01:01:45 I'll tell you this. I certainly have ideas of
01:01:45 --> 01:01:50 different laws. Right. Here's what they are.
01:01:52 --> 01:01:56 It's a law. that everyone has to learn an instrument
01:01:56 --> 01:02:01 that they play for their entire lifetime. God,
01:02:01 --> 01:02:05 I'm not into music. You're not into previous.
01:02:05 --> 01:02:07 You're not. You're not into this island. Right.
01:02:08 --> 01:02:11 Right. Number two is that if you release three
01:02:11 --> 01:02:15 albums, you put up four fingers there. Yeah,
01:02:15 --> 01:02:19 I'm holding the pen. Oh, sorry. Sorry, sorry,
01:02:19 --> 01:02:21 yes, you release three albums. If you release
01:02:21 --> 01:02:25 three albums, your fourth album has to be an
01:02:25 --> 01:02:27 acoustic greatest hits album. Oh, is that a pet
01:02:27 --> 01:02:29 peeve of yours or something? Yeah, I don't think
01:02:29 --> 01:02:33 enough artists do, especially, obviously, this
01:02:33 --> 01:02:37 is mostly for like singer songwriters, like we
01:02:37 --> 01:02:41 are owed an acoustic treatment of at least some
01:02:41 --> 01:02:43 of your hits. You can do new ones if you want,
01:02:43 --> 01:02:46 but yeah, the album has to be mostly acoustic
01:02:46 --> 01:02:49 versions of your existing songs. Question if
01:02:49 --> 01:02:51 I was a singer songwriter on previous, could
01:02:51 --> 01:02:54 it be allowed that my fourth album is just me
01:02:54 --> 01:02:58 going in on MTV to do like an MTV unplugged?
01:02:58 --> 01:03:01 Yeah, if it's unplugged or like, yeah, or like
01:03:01 --> 01:03:04 NPR. I mean, it has to be album length. So it's
01:03:04 --> 01:03:07 like, OK, whatever that threshold is, like 30
01:03:07 --> 01:03:10 minutes or something. Yes. But yeah, yeah, you
01:03:10 --> 01:03:12 could do unplugged MTV. You could do a tiny desk
01:03:12 --> 01:03:14 concert kind of stuff. Yeah. Okay, it won't be
01:03:14 --> 01:03:17 good, but I can do that. Okay, do you have any
01:03:17 --> 01:03:20 non -music -based laws, or are these very...
01:03:20 --> 01:03:26 Yeah, yeah, yeah. The only crime punishable by
01:03:26 --> 01:03:36 death is lying. Oh. Okay. I'm John Lovitz. Why?
01:03:36 --> 01:03:39 Like, lying, like... Yeah, just telling a lie.
01:03:39 --> 01:03:42 If you get caught in a lie, you're dead. Yeah.
01:03:42 --> 01:03:44 Interesting. Okay. Hopefully it's probably gonna
01:03:44 --> 01:03:46 happen a couple of times pretty early. Maybe
01:03:46 --> 01:03:49 even a lot. Oh. After a while people will be
01:03:49 --> 01:03:52 like, okay, we gotta stop lying. Yes. Okay. No
01:03:52 --> 01:03:55 more questions about that one. I was going to
01:03:55 --> 01:03:57 say, am I okay? Because I told you this would
01:03:57 --> 01:04:00 take an hour. I figured it wouldn't take an hour.
01:04:00 --> 01:04:03 It would take longer. Is that lying or just?
01:04:03 --> 01:04:07 Yeah, that's a lie. That is, yeah. Well, you're,
01:04:07 --> 01:04:10 you're, you're, you're facilitating, you're my
01:04:10 --> 01:04:12 guide. Yeah. You're my country building guide.
01:04:12 --> 01:04:16 So you're you're above the law. OK, just a couple
01:04:16 --> 01:04:18 more here. We did get it. Actually, one of one
01:04:18 --> 01:04:21 of my laws was every one must participate in
01:04:21 --> 01:04:25 survivor games. OK, there's no there's no social
01:04:25 --> 01:04:30 media, but you also can reject solicitors. Well,
01:04:30 --> 01:04:32 you can't deter them, right? So there's no social
01:04:32 --> 01:04:34 media. You can be you can be on the Internet.
01:04:34 --> 01:04:38 You can Google, right? But but there's no social
01:04:38 --> 01:04:41 media allowed on the entire island, but. If people
01:04:41 --> 01:04:44 knock on your door to promote something, you
01:04:44 --> 01:04:46 have to hear what they have to say. Oh, I'm okay
01:04:46 --> 01:04:49 with that. Here's another one. All colleges are
01:04:49 --> 01:04:53 two years, two year programs, but you can go
01:04:53 --> 01:04:56 multiple times. That's why the Kim Jong Il stuff
01:04:56 --> 01:04:59 didn't work. Yeah. Yep. You can only get married
01:04:59 --> 01:05:02 twice. Oh, do you have to stay with the second
01:05:02 --> 01:05:05 person? No, no. Oh, you could just be single
01:05:05 --> 01:05:07 then. Right. You can't have another marriage.
01:05:08 --> 01:05:11 No third marriages. No third weddings. Right.
01:05:12 --> 01:05:14 Okay. No partnerships at all. Well, yeah. You
01:05:14 --> 01:05:16 can party. No ceremony. This is amazing. Yeah.
01:05:16 --> 01:05:19 Okay. I'll be interested. Yeah. Just like two
01:05:19 --> 01:05:22 marriages and then move on. Okay. Uh, last, last
01:05:22 --> 01:05:25 couple here. Uh, one. Oh, everyone has to write
01:05:25 --> 01:05:30 an autobiography. Oh shit. You know what? Yeah,
01:05:30 --> 01:05:32 you can't lie. So it's got to be self -documented
01:05:32 --> 01:05:35 earnest honest rice and then the other one and
01:05:35 --> 01:05:38 then the last one here is no hunting other people
01:05:38 --> 01:05:41 for sport and That was just me kind of shifting
01:05:41 --> 01:05:44 into well, I should probably have I should probably
01:05:44 --> 01:05:48 have some protective laws So these are just pet
01:05:48 --> 01:05:50 peeves and like encouragement of creativity But
01:05:50 --> 01:05:52 I was like maybe should have something that are
01:05:52 --> 01:05:55 like don't don't do the basic cover my bases
01:05:55 --> 01:05:57 here So you thought there could be a chance people
01:05:57 --> 01:06:01 hunt you for sport for sport my gosh on a on
01:06:01 --> 01:06:06 a on an island country that does survivor a countrywide
01:06:06 --> 01:06:09 Yes, every year. Yeah, there's gonna be some
01:06:09 --> 01:06:11 people out there trying to hunt if you don't
01:06:11 --> 01:06:13 make a law against it Okay. Yeah, very good.
01:06:13 --> 01:06:20 Very good. Yes. That is your constitution Okay,
01:06:21 --> 01:06:24 James, where do people find you offline and online
01:06:24 --> 01:06:29 not for the hunting you Just yeah. Speaking of

01:06:52 --> 01:06:56 OK. I have one last question to ask you. If people

01:07:01 --> 01:07:03 the punishment? They're going to get called.
01:07:03 --> 01:07:06 Call is always the answer. And it can mean either
01:07:06 --> 01:07:10 death or removal. Yeah. Yeah, that's philosophical.
01:07:10 --> 01:07:12 OK. Bye, everyone. Thank you for listening. Goodbye.
01:07:13 --> 01:07:13 Thank you.
